I had read the second book a long time ago but didn't remember. I am glad to have the opportunity to read learn how the club was formed and why. These three books are filled with suspense and twists and turns. You think you know who and why, then everything changes. I have long been a fan of James Patterson and love Alex Delaware. The murder club is a completely different type of character study with women in control, they are wonderfully different friends who come together to solve cases. The third book has a surprise that was so upsetting that I almost couldn't finish it. But these are wonderful friends and they each have something to contribute that makes the stories believable and heartwarming. You will enjoy the Women's Murder Club. I am in search of #4. Start with number one and you will find why the club was formed and what each of the characters have to offer. ENJOY!
Enjoyed the characters and the way Patterson develops each of the friends throughout the three volumes. Considering he's a guy trying to write from a woman's perspective, the characters are believable. I also liked how smoothly he changes "voice."I called it a great "beach read" because while the story moves quickly and satisfyingly, to do this, Patterson sacrifices some attention to detail. Minor, but irritating at times. Like, does our heroine really leave poor Martha alone all day, everyday? Just a short paragraph would have made this more believable: eg. about a kind neighbor who understands the uncertain work hours of a homicide detective's job, so helps out by checking in on Sweet Martha daily. If that was there in any of the three volumes, I missed it.Otherwise, fun read, and will definitely be reading the next ones!
Three riveting murder mysteries! Each book had a different scenario and a Women's Murder Club had been formed. Their objective was women could out whit the male chauvinistic species to solve any crime and promote women to the top of their profession. The crimes were strategically planned and not all of the results were professionally or personally favorably achieved. You had to take the brutally bad characters and really cheer for for your heroes.I found each book thoroughly entertaining and couldn't read fast enough to get to the next book. A huge thanks to James Patterson, AndrewGross!
Thoroughly enjoy James Patterson novels/mysteries and really like this series. Don't know why TV program ended, but certainly was more enjoyable for those of us who do not enjoy the overabundance of reality and talent-non talent shows. Sorry it's gone. Read the triology from my kindle while on cruise, between other activites, and really enjoyed having the ease of kindle reading without having to hold up a heavy 3 volume book. Will get more kindle books over time, still like feel of a "real" book, but kindle is great to read without struggling with "book lights" when reading in bed or even easy chair.
I thoroughly enjoy Patterson's books as light diversion reading. He is one of the better murder mystery writers currently on the scene. However I do wish that he would, like Ian Flemming did before him, get someone to teach him a bit about firearms if he is going to keep describing them and their functions in his novels. He makes far too many technical errors in that area. As his characters' use of firearms often play significantly into his plots, he owes it to his readers to get things right.
Whether you have or have not read any Women's Murder Club books, it is almost a requirement that you read the first three. They create the club, set the tone, add necessary input and output, and later books refer back to these 3 books. They are all exciting, building on each character as well as the group, to get things done. There are great descriptions on each lady, and other main characters as well. This is the kind of series you just will start reading, and won't stop until you've read through every book. So get your reading glasses warmed up(if you need them), and find out who and what the Women's Murder Club is all about.
Not crazy about this book. The character parts are juvenile at times which makes the reading tedious. On the other hand the murders are gory and horrible. What a mix. DELETE ME! I will!
Fun reading about close sisterly relationship between 4 women who get together regularly and form a club that brain storms solutions to current local crimes. The women are all in roles that touch crime scenes - police detective, coroner, lawyer and newspaper reporter - from different angles. Their individual perspectives provide information contributions that support the other club members in answering some baffling questions pertaining to various cases, creating a constant "up date" feed of information. I enjoy the character developments and mind perplexing stories since I am an avid mystery reader. The series in on-going and each book leaves you wanting to pick up the next one in the series!
